Dive into weaving with willow at our charming farm in Northumberland County this summer! Join us for immersive workshops in our new studio. From one-day gatherings to skill development workshops. Our basketry classes feature willow grown right here on our farm. Discover basketry, whether you're a beginner or seasoned weaver, there is something for everyone. Let nature inspire your creations as we shape beautiful, functional baskets together.

Please scroll down to see photos and descriptions of the projects we are offering. To register please fill out the form at the bottom of this page. If a space is available we will email you an invoice within 48 hours, which may be paid online via credit card or e-transfer (preferred). There will be a PDF file attached to your invoice containing pertinent details for your workshop. Please save or print this file. Invoices that go 5 days overdue are automatically cancelled so that we may fill all workshop spaces.

If the workshop you wish to attend is sold out we will add you to a waiting list.

All materials are supplied and you will have use of all required tools . We will send you an email reminder one week prior to the class. Complimentary coffee, tea and water will be available for full day classes.

*Please note, most of our workshops are suitable for beginners, please read the class description for details. Intermediate and Serial Weavers are welcome in all of our workshops and encouraged to experiment with new weaves and shapes to improve their skills. Space is limited and workshops sell out quickly. You will be added to our waiting list if the class of your choice is sold out.

We ask that you leave your pets as home.


Two Day Round Basket

Immerse yourself in our beautiful, willowy world for a couple days of weaving on our beautiful farm. 

We will guide you through the process of constructing a basket. Learn at least two weaving techniques and how to make a beautiful border. Then if you like, finish it off with a central handle or side handles.

Peony Crown/ Plant Support

Build your own UNIQUE Peony Crown/Plant Support. A Madame Twig I original creation! This one-of-a-kind plant support is both beautiful and functional in your garden, outdoor container or even inside your home. It also makes the perfect gift! Willow colours will vary. Wall Hanging Basket

Taking cues from Hanna Van Aelst’s wall hanging basket, this intricately woven wall accent serves a variety of purposes, from displaying florals and fruit to storing garlic and more! Join us in crafting this charming piece using willow sourced directly from our farm. Discover three weaving techniques along with an easy trac border, and feel free to incorporate a small handle to customize your creation. Willow colours may vary. No experience necessary.

Small Round Basket


We're thrilled to guide you through the art of basket weaving! In this class, you'll master the preparation of the base, staking up, learn two distinct weaving techniques, and crafting a border. Creating a functional basket solely from twigs and bringing it home is an unparalleled experience. No prior experience is required. Willow colors may vary.

Round Fruit or Bun Basket

Medium Art Obelisk

The medium Obelisk is one of the most versatile willow ornaments we offer. It can be used inside or out year-round. Adding mini lights is one of our favorites! It can be used in your garden spring through summer for climbing plants or as a simple yet beautiful accent piece. Come winter, it can be used for Christmas décor. Combine 2 weaving techniques to create beautiful woven bands. This piece is a timeless favorite! Finished height is approximately 4-5 feet tall. Willow colors may vary.

Base Weaving Skills Workshop

Baskets start at the base! This 2 day skills workshop focuses on developing the skills needed to weave beautiful baskets, mainly the base. On day one we will weave a number of basket bases. The focus on day one will be on picking out and setting up slath, picking out appropriate weavers for a base, weaving a base using the pairing technique, and shaping of the base. More experienced weavers (those who have made 2 or more baskets) can work on reverse pairing. On day 2 we will make a a small round basket employing the skills learned on day one! Willow colours may vary,

Oval Basket

This class is offered to participants who have made at least two round stake and strand willow baskets in the past. Challenge yourself with the next level of basketry, the oval base! If you are interested in furthering your love of basketry, this is a great workshop for you. Learn at least 2 side weaving techniques and finish with a beautiful border and a central handle or raised handles. Willow colors may vary.

Willow Lantern

Aren’t these gorgeous?! These lanterns will have you ready for nights on the deck or by the lake. New weavers will make their lanterns on a natural wooden base. More experienced weavers (those who have attended 2 basket workshops) will make woven bases. These little beauties are woven in the same way as baskets including the border and handle, so if you’re looking to learn how to make a basket this is a great way to learn! Willow colours may vary. MADAME TWIG FEATURE - SIDE WEAVE SKILLS WORKSHOP!


If you are interested in developing your basket-making skills, join our 2-day Side Weave Skills Workshop that focuses on developing the skills needed to weave beautiful baskets. On day one, we will review and practice a minimum of 3 side weaves in a template. The items you make on day one can be used as plant collars in your garden or in the pots of your houseplants, or as a wreath base. The focus on day one will be on picking materials suitable for the size of your basket and the weave you intend to use, as well as maintaining your basket's shape. More experienced weavers are encouraged to give the English rand a try. On day 2, we will make a small round basket employing the skills learned on day one! There’s so much learning slated for this class it’s impossible to list it all! No Experience Necessary. Willow colors may vary.

Willow Flower

Using a random weaving technique, we're going to show you how to make a gorgeous woven willow flower. This vibrant decoration is versatile enough to brighten up any corner of your home or outdoor area. And get this: when it's all done, it'll bloom to a fabulous width of approximately 2.5-3 feet! Pictures don’t do this one justice. Willow colours may vary.

Once your form has been submitted you will receive an invoice via email. Attached to the invoice will be an information sheet about your workshop. Please allow 48 hours for us to process your form and send out your invoice. If you have not received your invoice within 48 hours you can contact us to ensure we received your form submission. Before submitting a form, please review our Cancellation Policy. If the class is fully booked you will automatically be added to the cancellation list.

Your payment secures your spot in the class. Invoices that become 5 days over due will be cancelled so the spaces can be filled prior to the class date.



We are constantly working on making classes available more frequently, we know classes fill quickly and we are making efforts behind the scenes for more classes. If you don’t get into your class of choice please keep trying! We can't wait to see you!
